Back Bay Newport Engagement | Josh and Olivia

Our couple, Josh and Olivia, were going for a rustic look. Our bride to be was wearing her cowboy boots and we all agreed that Back Bay Newport would be a great fit for their engagement session.

My assistant and I arrived a few minutes early to walk around and choose some spots to frame them in. If you are not familiar with the area, Back Bay Newport is only a few miles away from busy John Wayne Airport. We had multiple planes fly by every few minutes. I instantly knew I wanted to get one photo with a plane flying in the background to give our couple a pretty cool and unique type of shot!

We spent most of our time with our couple just laughing our butts off! Josh knew exactly what to say to Olivia whenever we would tell him to "whisper a little something in her ear". Sure enough, as soon as he did, she would start smiling and laughing! It wasn't difficult to get "natural" smiles for the camera ;-)

We hope you enjoy the photos. I can't wait for their big day and we are truly thankful for being able to document all their special memories!

Congratulations once again Josh and Olivia!!

Trabuco Canyon Maternity | Yahaira & Dominic

We had the pleasure of photographing Yahaira & Dominic’s maternity shoot. They are expecting a baby girl whom they will name Leah Itzel.

For the location, we decided to go with an outdoor rustic feel, so we went with Holy Jim Trail in Trabuco Canyon.

Yahaira and Dominic told me they have never been photographed professionally before and were a bit nervous about the whole shoot. I started asking them some simple questions to get to know them and make them a little bit more comfortable. Before you know it, we were joking around and got everyone laughing!

We shot an hour before sunset to ensure the best lighting, known in photography as the “Golden Hour”. We continued to shoot even after the sun went down, my team and I were prepared by bringing multiple lighting equipment to produce some epic night shots!

Congratulations Yahaira and Dominic!

I hope you all enjoy the photos and please feel free to share with your friends and family.
